Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear to my first class?
Good options for pole attire include:
short shorts and a tank top
pole dance specific attire
swimsuits
This is due to the need for skin grip on the pole, so you don’t slip!
Do I need to have a lot of upper body strength or flexibility to start pole classes?
Nope, not even a little bit! Complete beginners are welcome. You will build strength and flexibility through pole classes! All body types welcome. All fitness levels welcome.
Is it exotic/erotic dance?
Only if you want it to be! There are many different styles of pole and the great thing about private classes is that we can customize your experience to meet your needs! I’m happy to teach you circus style tricks and combos, stripper style floorwork, or anything in between!
Why don’t you teach men?
While I have absolutely loved teaching both men and women over the years, I have made the difficult decision to keep my home studio a space for women only. This is for my own safety, as I do not feel comfortable inviting men I’m unfamiliar with into my home at this time. This being said, I am willing to discuss exceptions, and you are welcome to reach out to me directly.
It’s come to my attention that there are some women only gyms and dance studios out there who are not friendly to trans women, so I want to be very clear that this is an LGBTQA+ friendly space.
